In our quest to make science more accessible (and fun) to broader audiences, we are thrilled to introduce Break it Down for me! A new series that challenges investigators to break down the title of their [complex and, oftentimes, nearly impossible for the layperson to understand] study in simple and relatable terms for the audience.

This series was created with one main goal: to make science accessible to as many people as possible (and have a little bit of fun along the way).

Our first challenger was David Izquierdo-Garcia, PhD, from the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. He broke down the title of his paper titled Detection and Characterization of Thrombosis in Humans Using Fibrin-Targeted Positron Emission Tomography and Magnetic Resonance (we had to take a couple of breaths while saying it out loud) which was published in JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging.
